HydraPak - RECON.

Plastic bottles are back and better than we ever thought possible.
Gone are the plastics of the past, today’s HydraPak plastic bottles are the hero on the block. HydraPak RECON is to date the very first plastic bottle and cap completely comprising of the greatest amount of recycled material to ever be featured in a re-usable bottle. Comprising of 50% re-cycled material HydraPak utilizes EASTMAN TRITON RENEW TECHNOLOGY to transform plastic waste from a variety of sources, primarily PET (polyethylene terephthalate) single use bottles into up- cycled outdoor bottles. This technology is also utilized across various products including small appliances, food storage containers, eyewear, textiles, and cosmetic packaging. HydraPak is the first to use this technology in a hydration system. The RECON is recycled at the end of its life to benefit our environment which keeps our eco-minded customers happy as well as the planet.
In HydraPak’s product testing laboratory, the 1-liter bottle was put through rigorous work outs to simulate the hardest hiking conditions our harsh terrain could throw at it and it came out a winner. Filled to capacity, it was first SWISHED at a steady walking beat for 72 hours on a hiking simulation machine. Attached by a clip around it’s TPU bail it was vigorously shaken to test its durability and leak resistance and refused to break. When testing stopped there was NO failure. The still full bottle was then dropped onto a concrete surface from a 1-meter nearly 2-meter height landing on its top, bottom and sides and again proved indestructible.
Over two decades now HydraPak has become the number one original equipment manufacturer of reservoirs and soft flasks in the world. The companies mission statement is to create durable hydration and water storage products for outdoor use. This product is tough, efficient, cost effective, comparable in weight to other plastic bottles despite the hardiness or recycle content.
SUSTAINABILITY….

The RECON will become the backpackers ideal water bottle for numerous reasons that tick all the boxes.
  1. It’s tough and will survive the hardest treatment you can dish up to it.
  2. The cap is leakproof and twists 180 degrees to open and close, doesn’t need to be removed or lifted up to drink from, instead, the cap is rotated open. This design is excellent and enables you to drink without spill and without choking on water or sucking in air, optimum for staging hydration.
  3. The tall slim shape of both the 1ltr and 750 ml size makes it slide into and out of the backpack side pockets easily.
  4. The bottles don’t cost or weigh more than the comparable plastic bottles despite the hardness or recycle content.
Recon Bottles will be available from OSA Brands from Mid-January 2021
